Oxx Power™ engines provide solutions to the pressures of government mandates to reduce emissions while supplying the power source needed to preserve farmland and other agricultural entities.
In California alone, more than 8,000 diesel engines will be forced into retirement by 2010 in order to comply with the Diesel Risk Reduction Plan (www.arb.ca.gov). Users of agricultural equipment may get a head start on the emission reduction plan by utilizing Oxx Power engines.
Oxx Power engines have the capability of running on a multitude of fuels, including hydrogen. If hydrogen is not feasible at this time, HEC engines can run on natural gas, propane, gasoline or ethanol until the time is right to convert to hydrogen.
An example of how HEC is working with agricultural markets includes the working relationship with irrigation pump manufacturer Sawtelle & Rosprim, HEC plans to integrate ammonia-powered engines with Sawtelle’s pump technologies in order to help the industry meet California’s new emissions requirements scheduled to go into effect in 2010. Details of the project can be found in the September 19, 2006 press release under the News section of this website or by calling our corporate headquarters at 515-295-3178.
